Elsa's family loved to celebrate Halloween. They would go all out, decorating their house and yard with spooky decorations, and hosting a party for all their friends and family. One year, they decided to have a contest to see who could collect the most money in a certain amount of time. Elsa was determined to win, so she practiced her trick-or-treating route for weeks. On the night of the contest, she was ready to go. She put on her costume and headed out the door. Elsa walked up to the first house and knocked on the door. A friendly old lady answered the door and gave Elsa a handful of candy. Elsa thanked her and moved on to the next house. She continued to collect candy from house to house, and she was soon starting to feel like she was in the lead. As she was walking, Elsa saw a group of kids playing in the street. They were playing a game of tag, and they were all laughing and having fun. Elsa stopped to watch them for a moment, and she realized that she was having just as much fun as they were. She forgot all about the contest and just enjoyed the Halloween festivities. When the time was up, Elsa had collected a lot of candy, but she wasn't the winner. The winner was a boy named Max, who had collected even more candy than Elsa. Elsa was disappointed, but she wasn't upset. She had had a lot of fun, and that was all that mattered.
