Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches a temperature of 180 degrees F (82 degrees C). Do not let it boil. 4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately pour the mixture into a heatproof bowl. Place the bowl in a larger bowl filled with ice water and stir until the mixture cools to room temperature. 5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight. 6. Once the mixture is chilled, churn it in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. 7. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight. Enjoy!
