The boy was beaming with excitement. He couldn't believe that this day had finally come. He was going to secondary school for the first time! He wanted to make sure that he looked his best on his first day of school. When the morning finally came, he woke up early and got dressed. He put on his new clothes and shoes, and he slung his backpack over his shoulder. He looked in the mirror and smiled. He was ready for anything. He ate a quick breakfast, then he said goodbye to his parents and headed out the door. He couldn't wait to see what this new chapter in his life held. As he walked to school, he took in all the sights and sounds around him. He felt like he was in a new world. Everything was so different from elementary school. The buildings were bigger, the students were older, and the teachers seemed more serious. He walked into the school and found his way to his classroom. The teacher continued calling roll, and then she started the day's lessons. The boy listened attentively and tried to take notes. He was determined to do well in his new school. After the first day of school was over, the boy walked home feeling tired but happy. He had survived his first day of secondary school, and he had even made a few new friends.
