Make a Lime Pie

A delectable lime pie is a must-have. To make your own lime pie, you will need the following ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup butter, cold and cubed 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 egg yolk 1 tablespoon ice water 4 cups fresh lime juice 1 cup sugar 6 egg whites 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, butter, and salt until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and ice water. Add to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. 4. Press the dough into a 9-inch pie plate and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. 5. In a medium saucepan, combine the lime juice, sugar, and cornstarch. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened. 6. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Fold into the lime mixture. 7. Pour the filling into the cooled pie crust and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set. 8. Let cool completely before serving.
