She could use the bird to send a message to the prince. She wrote a letter to the prince, and she tied it to the bird's leg. The bird flew away, and the princess waited anxiously for a reply. A few days later, the bird returned with a letter from the prince. The letter said that he would come to rescue the princess the next night. The princess was overjoyed. She knew that she would be reunited with the prince soon. The next night, the prince came to the tower. He climbed up the tower and rescued the princess. They rode away together, and they lived happily ever after.
