The eighth iteration of Going the Distance. Alex is on his way home, but his spaceship is running low on fuel. He must use his ingenuity and skills to find a way to get home safely. He knows that there are energy asteroids in space, and he can use his energy absorbing shield to convert them into working power. But how long will this last? And how far can he get? Alex knows that he must be careful. He cannot afford to waste any energy. He must use his resources wisely. He must also be careful not to damage his spaceship. If he does, he will be stranded in space. Alex scans the horizon for energy asteroids. He knows that they are out there, but he cannot see them. He must be patient. He must wait for them to come to him. Finally, Alex sees an energy asteroid. He moves his spaceship closer to it. He activates his energy absorbing shield. The energy from the asteroid flows into the shield. Alex's spaceship begins to power up. Alex smiles. He knows that he is one step closer to home. He continues to scan the horizon for more energy asteroids. He knows that he will need them if he wants to make it home safely. Alex is determined to make it home. He knows that he can do it. He has the skills, the knowledge, and the determination. He will not give up. He will not give in. He will make it home.
