The pathetic prince sat upon his throne, his head in his hands. His kingdom was in ruins, his people were starving, and his enemies were at the gates. He had failed them all. "What can I do?" he cried. "I am a failure." Just then, a stranger appeared in the throne room. He was dressed in a simple robe, and his face was hidden by a hood. "Do not despair," the stranger said. "There is still hope for your kingdom." "How?" the prince asked. "I have lost everything." "You have not lost everything," the stranger said. "You still have your people. And with their help, you can rebuild your kingdom and defeat your enemies." The prince looked at the stranger in disbelief. "How can I do that? I am a failure." "You are not a failure," the stranger said. "You are just a man who has made mistakes. But mistakes can be forgiven. And with the help of your people, you can overcome them." The prince took a deep breath. "I will try," he said. The stranger smiled. "I know you will," he said. "And I will be with you every step of the way." The prince and the stranger left the throne room and went out into the streets of the city. The people were gathered in the streets, crying and wailing. They had lost everything. The prince stood before the people and raised his hand. "My people," he said. "I know that you have suffered. But I promise you that I will rebuild our kingdom and defeat our enemies. With your help, we will make this kingdom a place where everyone can live in peace and prosperity." The people cheered. They believed in the prince. They knew that he would lead them to victory. The prince and the people worked together to rebuild the kingdom. They worked day and night, and in a few months, the kingdom was back to its former glory. The people were happy and prosperous, and the prince was a wise and just ruler. The stranger who had helped the prince was never seen again. But the prince never forgot him. He knew that the stranger was a symbol of hope, and that he would always be there for him when he needed him most.
