Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. 3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the brown sugar until well combined. 4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Stir in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. 5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups. 6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. 7. Let cool completely before frosting. Frosting 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 3 cups powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1-2 tablespoons milk 1. Beat the butter in a medium bowl until light and fluffy. 2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until smooth. 3. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk until desired consistency is reached. 4. Frost the cupcakes and enjoy!
