Easter Egg Cakes
Easter is a time for celebration, and what better way to celebrate than with a delicious Easter egg cake? These cakes are easy to make and are sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Green food coloring
Yellow food coloring
White chocolate chips
Candy Easter eggs
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
4. Divide the batter between two bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl and yellow food coloring to the other.
5. Pour the green batter into the prepared baking pan. Spoon the yellow batter on top of the green batter, creating a marbled effect.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
8. Frost the cake with your favorite frosting. Decorate with green and yellow candy Easter eggs and white chocolate chips.
Tips
To make the cakes even more festive, you can add sprinkles or edible glitter to the frosting.
If you don't have two bowls, you can simply mix the green and yellow batters together to create a single marbled cake.
The cakes can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
