How to play Connect 4 1. Set up the game. Place the 42 game pieces, each with a different color on one side, in a stack in the center of the board. 2. Take turns. Players take turns dropping one of their game pieces from the top of the board into any column. 3. Connect four. The goal of the game is to connect four of your game pieces in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. 4. Winning. The first player to connect four of their game pieces wins the game.
