Explosion of bubbles caused by supersonic shockwaves
When a solid object moves through a fluid faster than the speed of sound in that fluid, it creates a shock wave. This shock wave is a region of high pressure and temperature that can cause the fluid to compress and heat up rapidly. If the fluid is a liquid, it can also cause the formation of bubbles. These bubbles are formed when the liquid is compressed to such a high pressure that it becomes superheated and begins to vaporize.
The bubbles are very small and unstable, and they quickly collapse. This collapse generates a shock wave of its own, which can cause the bubbles to explode. The explosion of the bubbles can produce a variety of effects, including a loud noise, a flash of light, and a spray of water droplets.
This phenomenon is often seen in nature, such as when a bird dives into water or a bullet strikes a liquid. It can also be created artificially, such as in a laboratory or in a science museum.
