A New Recipe for a Delicious Sheep Pie Ingredients 1 batch of prepared pie dough 2 pounds of lamb shoulder, cut into 1-inch pieces 1 large onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1 cup red wine 1 cup chicken broth 1 tablespoon cornstarch 2 tablespoons cold water 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the lamb shoulder in the oil. Season with salt and pepper. 3. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. 4. Add the garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute more. 5. Add the red wine and chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the lamb is cooked through. 6. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Add to the skillet and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened, about 2 minutes. 7. Remove from heat and stir in the parsley. 8. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. 9. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
