James Sunderland is the protagonist of Silent Hill 2. As the game begins, he receives a letter from his deceased wife, Mary, who asks him to meet her in the town of Silent Hill. James travels to Silent Hill and begins to explore the town, which is shrouded in fog and populated by strange creatures. As he explores, James begins to uncover the truth about his wife's death and his own role in it.
