Spring Flower Cake Spring is in the air, and that means it's time to bake a spring flower cake! This cake is a delicious way to celebrate the arrival of spring, and it's also a fun and creative activity for kids. To make the cake, you will need: 1 cup of all-purpose flour 1 cup of sugar 1/2 cup of butter, softened 2 eggs 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1/2 cup of milk 1/4 cup of green food coloring 1/4 cup of yellow food coloring 1/4 cup of red food coloring 1 cup of white frosting 1/2 cup of pink frosting 1/2 cup of blue frosting Spring flowers, for decoration Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan. 2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Stir in the green, yellow, and red food coloring until the batter is evenly colored. 4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting. 5. Frost the cake with white frosting, then use the pink, blue, and yellow frosting to pipe flowers on top. Decorate with spring flowers, if desired. Serve and enjoy!
