Imagine that you are trekking in the Grand Canyon and you become lost. You must use your problem-solving skills to find a way to escape the wilderness. You have been trekking in the Grand Canyon for several days now, and you are starting to feel lost. The sun is setting, and you are not sure how to get back to your camp. You decide to climb up to a high point so that you can get your bearings. From the top of the cliff, you can see that you are in a very remote area. There are no other hikers in sight, and the only way out seems to be back the way you came. You start to panic, but then you remember something that you read in a book about survival. The book said that if you are ever lost in the wilderness, you should stay calm and try to find a way to signal for help. You look around and see a large rock that you can use to build a signal fire. You gather some wood and tinder, and you start a fire. As the fire burns, you wave your arms and shout for help. You do not know how long you have been waiting when you hear a noise. You turn around and see a group of hikers coming towards you. They have seen your fire and have come to help you. You are so relieved to be rescued. You thank the hikers for their help, and you promise to be more careful in the future. You learn a valuable lesson about the importance of being prepared when you are in the wilderness.
